Country Eccentricty

My latest collection, inspired by Traditional English Foul with mixes of Japanese Deconstruction and Effortless.
Working in knit and woven fabrics it's an electic range from:
Simple jersey skirts to a knit to woven cape.
Fair Ilse knits with woven trims to A cape made from Jacket Facings.

Riots on the streets of London

What a hetic week, the city of freedom and choice turned turned into a place of violence and uncertinty.
Worryed faces and a silence which was only broke by sirens.
Heart pumping hoping it's not near you.

The invetiable nights, sat eyes peeled to news 24.
The mistake of going on twitter and scaring yourself silly.
The bustling streets left for boarded up windows.
The sadness of peoples loses.

All for a free tv and a pair of trakkies.

The 1990's

Talking over lunch and the conversation turns to epic fashion mistakes of childhood. The bad choices we make all in the aid to be "cool" Which seem to make us all cringe back to party outfits of the 1990's, the trousers skirts the fringed halter-tops, pink boob tubes and of course mine being the worse the lime green towling top with applique flowers in which i had to beg my mam to buy me.

But

I still think that there were some pretty epic 1990's kitch looks. What other decande could you get away with wonky fringes, sweather shop jumpers and minnie mouse.

god bless the 90's, and my unfortunate hand me downs

thinking back.

i really miss doing art, i love fashion but parts of me really miss the glue gun burns on my hands. A time when perfection wasn't expected and freedon ruled my head. And pound shops were glad of my custom.
This my favourate peice, and always will be.

waking up in new surroundings is always nice. but i somehow feel that everytime i wake up i feel excited and inspired by my room, not many people would believe me being a student house. And to be honest the rest is pretty grim. But the ceiling is beautitful. I do pinch myself as i don't quite believe its my ceiling.

I also made my mum laugh as she said i may be the only student which uses a bookshelf for shoes. I like to think it more resourceable. Me books?

Mother Nature.

The long holidays create ample time for me to reflect over past collections and projects. While sifting through my wardrobe found my collection from last year. And found that i still really liked it. The theme mother nature includes natural fibres and natural dyes to create clothes with refrences to the 1970's.
Here i styled it with bare feet, and i simple tossled hair. In the middle of this rape field the natural pinks and browns work together with the yellow, against the dark depressive sky.

Family

Theres an undoubtful link in fashion choices through your family. One of my best sources of inspiration comes at looking at old photographs mostly of my grandad and grandma. The 1950's was a brilliant time for fashion, and when i look at these photograpghs i envy my grandma who, at the time would have been about my age. Who looks effortlessly stunning with puffed sleeves and frilled neckline.

This below is my ultimate favourate photograph. My grandma with the jointy angled hat and the belted coat, which has always leads me to belt my coats to the waist.
But what i liked about these times is the fashion concious men. Suited and booted as more of a regular accurance than these days. I find this a brilliant source for inspiration in times of creative block.
